Primary Vacuum: Rough vacuum pumps suitable for space simulation installations

Our range of primary pumps spans the full spectrum of current technologies available today.
Here is a selection of solutions best suited to the space sector. These typically span pressure ranges from atmospheric to below 10-2 mbar.

Dry scroll pumps

These pumps operate using two interlocking spiral scrolls, one orbiting and one fixed. As the orbiting scroll rotates it creates pockets of gas that are compressed towards the centre where the gas in expelled, creating a vacuum.
Oil-free and compact these pumps provide clean and efficient vacuum generation.

Our range of dry scroll pumps include:
mXDS, nXDS/XDS scroll pumps with pumping speeds going up to 46 m³h⁻¹.

Dry screw pumps

By rotating two parallel non-contacting helical screw rotors in opposite directions, these pumps trap and compress gas as the screws turn. This moves the gas from the inlet to the exhaust port without the use of lubricants or sealing fluids.
Efficient and clean our dry screw pumps include:

EDS pumps are available in variants ranging from 210 and 460 m³h⁻¹ and GXS this range delivers pumping speeds between 160 – 1900 m³h⁻¹.
Both ranges of pumps can be further enhanced with the addition of the Stokes 6” mechanical booster pump.

Multi-stage roots pumps

Multi-stage Roots pumps utilize multiple pairs of counter-rotating, lobed rotors mounted on a shared shaft within a single pump housing. As these rotors turn in opposite directions, they trap gas between the rotors and the stationary housing (also referred to as the stator), transporting it through successive stages. Each stage incrementally increases the pressure of the gas, effectively compressing it without internal contact between moving parts. This design ensures a clean, oil-free operation with minimal wear and maintenance.

The compact and energy-efficient nature of these pumps makes them ideal for laboratory environments. Our range includes models such as the nXR30i with a pumping speed of 30 m³h, and the nXR120i offering 120 m³/h, catering to various application needs.
